Mimas - Lifejackets

Mimas' second and most recent albums sees them losing a lot of the depressing undertones of their previous album, The Worries. most of the tracks on Lifejackets (one or two wouldn't be out of place on The Worries) are upbeat and creative takes on post-rock / indie with subtle yet impressive guitarwork. the vocalist's voice has become deeper and on many songs he adopts a sort of sing-along style which, for me, took some time to get used to but is a nice change. while i think The Worries is probably better this is still a great album that will hopefully make these guys more well-known and appreciated.
