there's a good reason why this is often referred to as one of if not the best death metal album (s). anybody who comes into this album thinking it'll be another band full of bland chugging riffs will get the shock of their lives. the guitarwork is like nothing else in the genre, almost bordering on sludge at some points (Clouded) and barely any tracks on the album sound similar. the drumming is absolutely intense and the vocals do stick true to the death metal formula (and as such can take some getting used to for listeners new to the genre) yet sound fantastic. this album can be a grower, on my first listen i knew it was different but disliked it, but it's well worth keeping as it is truly a classic.
