God Bless Your Black Heart is what i would consider The Paper Chase's 'ballad' album, similar to their previous, more lo-fi albums but not quite as noisy. there is a greater focus on the quieter, less insane songs, though their are some moments where the grating guitar riffs become the main focus. vocalist John Congleton is as dividing as ever with his nasally vocals not being the most pleasant thing to listen to but fit the lyrics (usually about some horrific occurance) perfectly.
